A 41-year-old man has been arrested in Derry on suspicion of drug offences after officers followed a dangerously driven e-bike to a property on Sunday evening.

Police on mobile patrol saw the e-bike on Lyndhurst Road. The rider failed to stop when signalled and headed towards Crescent Link.

Enquiries took officers to an address where they found several males and items linked to drug use. The 41-year-old was detained on suspicion of possessing a Class B controlled drug and permitting his premises to be used for cannabis consumption. He remained in custody.

Three other adults, aged 19, 20 and 22, were interviewed and reported to the Public Prosecution Service. A 17-year-old was referred to a Youth Diversionary Officer.

Inspector Pearce said the operation, carried out by the District Support Team with support from local policing officers based at Strand Road, highlighted the commitment to reducing the harm caused by illegal drugs. He asked anyone with information about drug supply or use to contact police on 101, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
