Police Arrest Youth on Drug Charges in Derry Skeoge Area
Police from the Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Policing Team arrested a 17-year-old male in the Skeoge area of Derry/Londonderry on 15 April. The arrest occurred at 4.55pm during proactive patrols targeting scrambler and e-scooter misuse.
Officers responded to a report of the male in the Glenabbey area. A search uncovered suspected Class A controlled drugs and suspected Class B controlled drugs.
The youth faces charges of possession of a Class A drug, possession of a Class B drug, and possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply. He received bail pending further enquiries.
Inspector Robb of the Ballyarnett team stated that officers work to prevent and detect drug activity. He described the operation as community-based policing. He asked residents to report suspected drug dealing to police on 101, online, or anonymously to Crimestoppers.
