Michael Forde, the former principal of St Mary’s College in Clady, has died. He passed away on 29 July.

Mr Forde, a resident of Portstewart, was principal of the school, now known as St Conor’s College, Clady/Kilrea. His wife Maureen, née Canning, predeceased him.

He is survived by his three children: Jennifer Bankhead and her husband Peter, Stephen, and Elaine and her husband Max. Also mourning are his siblings Sheila, Peggy, Chris, Eileen and Noel.

Following his retirement from the school, Mr Forde worked for a period at PPP on the Gortgole Road.

His Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Mary’s Star of the Sea Church in Portstewart on Saturday, 1 August, at noon.
