A large band competition and parade will take place in Newtownards town centre on Saturday, 18th July, involving approximately 1,000 participants and 41 bands. Police have issued traffic and travel advice for residents and road users.

The parade assembles on West Street at 7.15pm and follows a route along Mary Street, Regent Street, Francis Street, Doctors Lane, Castle Street, Court Street, Old Cross Street, High Street, Mill Street, Gibsons Lane, Regent Street, William Street, and back to West Street. It is expected to end by 10pm.

Local officers will manage diversions and maintain access for residents and carers. Anyone not attending the event is urged to seek an alternative route.
