Burglary in south Armagh sees man assaulted and getaway car destroyed
A man in his 30s was assaulted during a burglary at a home on the Bonds Road in Silverbridge, south Armagh, early on Monday morning.
Detectives said five masked men forced entry into the property shortly before 7am. They caused damage inside and attacked the resident, who sustained minor injuries. No further details of the man's condition have been released.
The suspects left the scene in a stolen grey Mercedes. Police later located the vehicle on fire in the New Road area of Cullyhanna. Firefighters from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the blaze, but the car was completely destroyed.
