A lorry driver was attacked and robbed during an attempted vehicle hijacking in rural County Armagh in the early hours of Tuesday, 7 July.

Police received a report at approximately 6:50 am that a number of masked men carrying weapons had approached a parked lorry at the junction of Ballybrannon Road and Drummanmore Road, near Loughgall. The driver was assaulted, and the gang made off with the vehicle's keys and a mobile phone.

The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between 4:00 am and 6:50 am.

Detectives have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses. Officers are particularly keen to obtain dash-cam or other video footage recorded in the area during the relevant timeframe.
