A documentary exploring the life of Gerry Adams is to be screened in Ballygawley, County Tyrone.

The film, titled ‘Gerry Adams: A Ballymurphy Man’, will be shown at St Ciaran’s Hall on Saturday, July 11, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 and can be purchased in advance from the Sinn Fein office in Ballygawley or paid at the door on the night.

The documentary follows Adams from his early years in Belfast, through the Troubles, to his time as president of Sinn Fein. It features first-hand accounts, archive footage, and Adams’ own reflections on decades of conflict, negotiation, and the peace process.

Mid Ulster Sinn Fein councillor Eugene McConnell said the film offers insight into the life and work of a central figure in modern Irish history. He noted that the documentary covers Adams’ 60 years of republican activism and encouraged the public to attend.

The screening follows previous showings elsewhere, including in Carrickmore.
