A Portadown man has been sentenced for disorderly behaviour after police found him asleep in a vehicle in Lurgan.

Niall Withers, 32, of The Spires, appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court in connection with an incident on 8 May.

The court was told that officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle and discovered Withers sleeping in the driver’s seat.

District Judge Michael Ranaghan, during sentencing, addressed Withers directly and indicated he did not believe police were unfairly targeting him.

Withers was convicted and sentenced for the disorderly behaviour offence.
