Man charged over Derry assault
A 39-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm following an assault in the Waterloo Street area of Derry on Saturday 23 May.
Police received a report at approximately 10.20pm of a fight between two men.
One man was punched in the face, fell, and hit his head.
The injured man was taken to hospital and remains in a stable condition.
The 39-year-old was arrested at the scene.
A quantity of suspected Class C drugs was found during a search, though he was released unconditionally in relation to the drugs matter.
He is due to appear before Dungannon Magistrates' Court on Monday 25 May.
Police continue to appeal for witnesses and any available CCTV footage, asking those with information to contact them on 101 quoting reference 1776 of 23/05/26.
