Over 140 Young People Honoured at Fermanagh and Omagh Council Reception
More than 140 young people from Omagh and Fermanagh were recognised at a special council reception at The Ardhowen theatre.
The annual Young Achievers Reception, hosted by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, celebrates the positive contributions of young people whose dedication and success have brought pride to the district.
Councillor Barry McElduff told attendees that the event provided important civic opportunities to recognise the outstanding work and achievements of young people who enrich society through creativity, innovation and community involvement.
He said the council is committed to supporting young people to reach their full potential and described those honoured as excellent ambassadors for the council area. Their achievements reflect hard work and determination, he added.
Councillor McElduff congratulated all present, saying they had made their families, schools, clubs and communities proud. He encouraged them to continue thriving in the future.
He also acknowledged the vital role played by parents, guardians, coaches and teachers in helping young people develop their talents and succeed.
Those recognised were shortlisted through a public nomination process, with achievements spanning categories including Drama, Education, Music, Charitable and Community Work, Public Service, Gymnastics, Volunteering, Dancing, Equestrianism, Farming and Sport.
