The Northern Ireland Business Services Organisation today released General Ophthalmic Statistics covering the 2025/26 financial year. The statistics are produced as Accredited Official Statistics.

The report summarises activity levels and payments across General Ophthalmic Services. Data is available at Northern Ireland level, with further breakdowns by Local Commissioning Group and Local Government District.

This year's publication has moved to an interactive HTML format. The statistics were generated using a Reproducible Analytical Pipeline, a process endorsed by the UK Statistics Authority that the BSO said will enhance efficiency and reproducibility.

The main document presents headline figures together with charts, infographics and user guidance. Supporting detailed tables providing trend, demographic and regional breakdowns are attached as downloadable annexes.

In a parallel release, the BSO also published the quarterly General Ophthalmic Services Statistics for the final quarter of 2024/25. That report uses a similar interactive format with key facts, graphics and the ability to extract the chart data.
