The Western Health Trust has formally acknowledged a £720 donation to the Palliative Care Ward at Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex. The money was raised through a charity ceili dance held in memory of Kathleen Breen, a Trillick woman who died in December 2025.

Marie Phelan, Kathleen’s sister, organised the event at the Dooneen Community Education Centre in Tempo, County Fermanagh. The family directed their fundraising to the ward that had provided care during Kathleen’s final illness.

Following the event, Ms Phelan thanked neighbours, friends and the wider community for their support and donations, stating that their kindness meant more than words could express.

Sr Thelma Graham, speaking on behalf of the palliative care staff, thanked Ms Phelan, Annmarie and Orlaith for their generosity, and all who contributed to the fundraising effort.
