A 33-year-old man has been committed for trial at Derry Crown Court facing charges of witness intimidation and threats to kill.

Jason Barton, of Clon Elagh, is accused of intimidating a witness, a juror and others on August 18. He also faces charges of making threats to kill, threats to damage property and making a threatening communication.

At a preliminary hearing it was accepted that there was a case to answer and no contrary submissions were made. Barton declined to call any witnesses or submit statements. He was returned for trial on July 3.
