Two men from Derry appeared at separate preliminary enquiries in Derry Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. Bradley Thompson, 30, of Canterbury Park faces 13 counts of fraud by false representation. The alleged offences occurred between March 31 and May 5 in 2023.

Thompson chose not to call witnesses or make a statement. The court released him on bail for trial at Derry Crown Court on May 6.

Conor Doherty, 40, of Ardfoyle in the lower Bishop Street area faces charges of wounding a man with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on July 14 of last year. Doherty also faces charges of assaulting the same man and possessing a Stanley knife as an offensive weapon on that date.

Doherty accepted there was a case to answer. He opted not to call witnesses or make a statement. The court released him on bail for trial at Derry Crown Court on May 6.
