COLERAINE: A 55-year-old woman accused of stealing more than £30,000 from a nursery school appeared to faint in the dock after her case was sent to Antrim Crown Court for trial. Katherine McKee, of The Appleyard, Coleraine, faces charges of fraud by abuse of position, false accounting and theft allegedly committed between 2011 and 2018, and was freed on bail of £500 with arraignment scheduled for 29 June.

CRAIGAVON: A motorist who made a sharp left turn ahead of a police checkpoint in Portadown at 1.15am was found to have a breath alcohol reading of 58, against a legal limit of 35. A defence solicitor told Craigavon Magistrates' Court the defendant had made an extremely foolish decision to drive to a 24-hour garage to buy cigarettes.
