Derry City and Strabane District Council will begin road resurfacing at four cemeteries from the week of 22 June.

Work starts at City Cemetery and then moves in sequence to Ballyoan Cemetery, Altnagelvin Cemetery and Strabane Cemetery.

Temporary restrictions will apply to pedestrian and vehicle access while the work is carried out.

Burials will continue during the programme, though alternative routes may be used for funeral services.

All affected areas will be signposted.

The council stated that the resurfacing forms part of routine maintenance to improve safety and accessibility at the sites.
