Police praise evidence in SNP finance case
Scotland's police chief has credited officers with building a strong case in a financial investigation involving the SNP.
Chief Constable Jo Farrell told a Scottish Police Authority meeting that the team worked methodically despite public attention.
She said the inquiry produced compelling evidence against Peter Murrell, who admitted taking more than £400,000 from the party over 12 years.
Murrell held the post of chief executive at the time of the offences.
The Chief Constable named Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Houston as the lead on the inquiry and thanked the financial crime unit for its role.
Farrell said the officers acted with integrity and professionalism throughout the case.
