Full weekend road closures will affect three roads in Omagh over multiple weekends in May and June.

The Department for Infrastructure has scheduled the closures to allow resurfacing at the junction of Mountjoy Road, Old Mountfield Road and Lisanelly Avenue.

These works form part of preparations for the Strule Shared Education Campus, with the road upgrades designed to manage increased traffic once the campus opens.

Work on the wider Mountjoy Road and Gortin Road scheme began last year and is due for overall completion in October 2026.

Signed diversions will operate during the closures, including a main route via Gortin Road, Strathroy Road and Derry Road, and a local route via Killyclogher Road and Market Street.

Emergency services, property owners and deliveries will retain access during the periods.

The Department stated that completion depends on good weather and will notify the public of any changes.
