Road closures will affect Mountjoy Road, Old Mountfield Road, and Lisanelly Avenue in Omagh during three weekends in May and June.

The Department for Infrastructure will close the roads to allow resurfacing at the junction. Closures are scheduled for Saturday 23 May from 6am to 6pm, from Friday 5 June at 8pm until Monday 8 June at 6am, and from Saturday 20 June at 6am until Monday 22 June at 6am.

Signed diversion routes will guide traffic around the closed areas. Emergency services, deliveries, and property access will continue during the periods.

A developer has applied to vary planning conditions for 62 houses at Ballinamullan Road in Omagh.

M J McBride Developments Ltd received approval in 2021 from Fermanagh and Omagh District Council. The company wants to start foundation work on the first house before completing required road improvements on Ballinamullan Road.

Council planning officials have recommended approval of the variation. Three local residents have objected to the change.

The Department for Infrastructure has stated that the wider carriageway improvements along Mountjoy Road and Gortin Road form part of preparations for the Strule Shared Education Campus.
