Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has launched the Makers Support Programme to assist creative and artisan food businesses.

The scheme provides one-to-one mentoring in areas such as finance, marketing, business planning and legal compliance.

A Makers Support Forum will operate as a network for makers to share advice, receive guidance and showcase work.

Short-term pop-up shops will also be available, allowing businesses to test products and reach new customers.

Lord Mayor Alderman Stephen Moutray said the programme recognises the contribution of these businesses to the local economy and the character of the borough.

He encouraged makers and artisan producers to take part in the initiative.

Registration of interest closes at 4pm on Friday 5 June.
