Mid and East Antrim Borough Council officials and the MTF Network visited the Wrightbus facility in Ballymena during Manufacturing Month to highlight the company's role in advanced manufacturing.

Wrightbus produces around 1,300 buses each year, including battery-electric and hydrogen-powered models now in service across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

The company employs 2,300 people directly and supports an additional 7,500 jobs through its supply chain, with 94 apprentices currently in training.

Wrightbus has delivered 77% revenue growth and maintains a long-standing research partnership with Queen's University Belfast focused on advanced engineering and data analytics.

Council Director Ryan Black said the visit showed the scale of investment and talent at the site and confirmed Wrightbus as a key asset for the borough.

Managing Director John McLeister said the company is proud of its Ballymena base and welcomed the opportunity to demonstrate its work in clean transport technology.

The visit also showcased the company's contribution to the council's clean economy goals through its zero-emission vehicle production.
