Police in Tyrone responded to a report of an assault in Fintona on Thursday, May 14. The call came in at around 11:45am.

Officers found a man in his 20s with multiple injuries to his face and legs in the Loughmuck Meadows area. The injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 11:40am. It dispatched two emergency ambulances, an ambulance officer and a charity air ambulance with a helicopter emergency medical service crew.

Responders assessed and treated the man at the scene before airlifting him to Craigavon Hospital.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the assault. They ask anyone in the area at the time who saw the incident to come forward.
