A man remains in critical condition in hospital after paramedics found him unconscious in Belfast city centre. The incident occurred in Royal Avenue around 4:40pm on Saturday, March 14.

Police Service of Northern Ireland officers attended after a request from Northern Ireland Ambulance Service staff. Ambulance personnel provided initial treatment at the scene before transporting the man to hospital.

Detectives are probing a potential connection to an assault reported ten minutes earlier at 4:30pm in nearby Castle Place. Officers aim to determine the sequence of events.
