Omagh Man Sentenced to Probation for Vehicle Damage at Filling Station
Terrence McDonagh, 25, from O’Kane Park in Omagh, received an 18-month probation order at Omagh Magistrates Court for criminal damage, disorderly behaviour, and possession of an article with intent to damage property.
The charges related to an incident on the night of October 26 in Omagh. Police responded to a confrontation among men in a pub car park after reports of disorder. The group dispersed following police intervention.
Police linked the disturbance to fight challenges exchanged on social media. Later, a man from the pub incident reported that McDonagh damaged his vehicle at a filling station using a long metal object. The damage included smashed windows and a body panel.
The victim fled the scene. McDonagh had pleaded guilty earlier. The court found him in breach of a suspended sentence, due to expire next month.
District Judge Conor Heaney imposed the probation order and declined to activate the suspended sentence. Defence counsel noted McDonagh's cooperation with police since the incident to prevent further trouble.
