A Year 11 pupil at Kilkeel High School placed in the top 10% of UK participants in the UK Mathematics Trust Intermediate Maths Challenge. The student earned a gold certificate in the initial round and advanced to the Pink Kangaroo Challenge, where he received a Gold Kangaroo certificate.

Pupils from Years 10 and 11 at the school took part in the competition, which tests problem-solving skills. The group earned four bronze certificates and six silver certificates overall.

The school commended the pupils for their work and enthusiasm in mathematics.
