Utility Regulator Approves NISEP Energy Efficiency Schemes for 2026/2027
The Utility Regulator has approved schemes under the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP) for 2026/2027. NISEP provides energy efficiency funding for domestic and non-domestic customers. At least 80 percent of the funding targets vulnerable or priority customers.
Eleven scheme managers deliver the programme. Funding covers priority whole house solutions including heating and insulation measures. It also supports priority individual measures such as insulation and other energy efficiency options. Non-priority schemes address various measures for domestic, non-domestic, and innovative projects.
Customers must identify an eligible scheme and contact the relevant scheme manager by phone or email for details. Grants operate on a first-come, first-served basis. High demand has led to waiting lists for some schemes, marked as 'current waiting list' on the published list.
Scheme managers provide updates on scheme status. The Northern Ireland Energy Advice service offers guidance on energy efficiency funding options via online contact or freephone at 0800 111 4455.
