FTD Brothers Complete Enniskillen Marathon Amid Large Local Support
Brothers Jordan and Cian Adams, known as the FTD Brothers, ran a marathon in Enniskillen on day 12 of their challenge to complete 33 marathons in 33 days across Ireland.
They started from Inis Ceithleann on Belmore Street at 10am and finished back there between 3.30pm and 4.30pm. Hundreds of runners joined them for parts of the route. Hundreds of onlookers lined the streets to cheer them on.
The brothers run to raise funds and awareness for dementia research. Their efforts support the Alzheimer Society of Ireland and their FTD Brothers Foundation. They aim to collect £1 million, with half the funds going to the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
Jordan Adams praised the turnout in Fermanagh as the largest so far. He noted the support from people taking time from work and school, including children with signs.
The brothers lost their mother Geraldine to frontotemporal dementia. Both brothers and their sister carry the gene mutation linked to the condition.
Enniskillen is the 11th stop in their challenge. They plan to end in Dublin.
