Vandals targeted the war memorial on Derry Road in Strabane for a second time within three days. The first incident occurred over the weekend when the initials 'KAH' appeared painted on the memorial. Police removed the graffiti on Tuesday.

DUP councillor Keith Kerrigan reported fresh vandalism at the site yesterday morning, again featuring the same initials. Authorities cleared the new graffiti shortly after.

The memorial honours local people who died in the Great War and World War II, including individuals from all community backgrounds. Kerrigan urged those responsible to stop the attacks and called for anyone with information to contact police or Crimestoppers anonymously.

He stated that the perpetrators lack knowledge of local history, where people from diverse backgrounds fought and died together. Kerrigan added that his party colleague Thomas Buchanan plans to address the incidents at Stormont next week.

Police are investigating both attacks and have issued an appeal for information. Witnesses can call 101 quoting reference 503 of 27/04/26, report online at www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/, or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or at www.crimestoppers-uk.org/.
