PSNI Fines Tractor Drivers for Motorway Use in Fermanagh Operation
Police from the Road Policing Unit escorted two tractors off a motorway in Fermanagh during Operation Drive Insured. The vehicles are prohibited from motorway networks. Officers issued fixed penalty notices to both drivers.
The same operation targeted uninsured drivers. Police seized two vehicles after confirming the drivers lacked proper insurance. Those motorists must appear in court. They face recovery costs, storage fees, and insurance expenses to retrieve their vehicles.
A PSNI spokesperson stated that drivers need valid insurance and knowledge of legal travel routes for their vehicles. Police highlighted risks from following satellite navigation blindly with restricted vehicles.
