The A45 Ballynakilly Road near Coalisland has reopened at 4pm on 30 April 2026 after Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins announced the early completion of the £1.9 million Creenagh Bridge replacement and carriageway realignment.

Work began in September 2025 and was due to finish in summer 2026. The Department for Infrastructure and its contractor finished ahead of time through planning efforts.

Kimmins stated the project improves safety for pedestrians and drivers between Coalisland and the M1 Motorway. She added it supports heavy goods vehicle traffic and boosts commercial links in the area.

The investment covers a 270-metre active travel footway connected to Ballynakilly Road. Kimmins noted these upgrades aid residents and commuters while strengthening road and active travel networks for businesses and communities.

The Department thanked residents, businesses and commuters for their patience during the works.
