Conor McNamee, 30, from Summer Meadow Mews in Derry's Waterside area, faces charges of murdering 28-year-old Amy Doherty. The alleged killing took place on March 21.

McNamee also faces charges of possessing an offensive weapon, a kitchen knife, on that date. He is charged additionally with possessing class A drugs.

At a sitting of the Magistrate's Court on Thursday, the prosecutor stated the full case file is expected by June 30. The court granted a four-week remand with no objections raised.

McNamee remains in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 21.
