A man from Middletown in County Armagh received a final chance to avoid prison at court after committing two thefts of food from a supermarket in Armagh.

The man was already serving a suspended sentence at the time of the offences. The court spared him immediate custody following the incidents.

He told the court that he acted while in a very bad place and had no money.
