Officials from the Police Ombudsman's Office met with the Policing Board's Performance Committee last week. The session covered findings from a report on police officers abusing positions for sexual purposes.

Chief Executive Hugh Hume and senior Ombudsman staff attended the meeting. They presented the report's conclusions and answered questions from committee members.

Discussions included potential actions for a system-wide response to the identified issues.

Representatives stated that 34 APSP cases remain open at various investigation stages. This total covers cases from the report plus new allegations since 1 January 2025.
