Police in Newtownabbey responded to a report of a house and three vehicles on fire at Fairview Lane around 11pm on Thursday, 16 April. The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene to extinguish the blaze.

Occupants of the house escaped unharmed except for one man who suffered minor head injuries consistent with an assault. Police found substantial damage to the property and vehicles upon arrival.

Detectives are investigating the fire as arson with intent to endanger life and burglary. They suspect a disturbance and assault took place inside the house beforehand.

Enquiries continue to identify those responsible and establish a motive. Police request CCTV, dash-cam, or other footage from the area, or reports of suspicious activity.
