Two annual charity events take place in Aghyaran, County Tyrone, to remember Gemma McHale, who died in a car accident in May 2012.

The Gemma McHale Memorial 5k Walk Run starts at 7.30pm on Friday, April 24, at Aghyaran Centre. Registration opens one hour earlier. Refreshments follow the event.

The Gemma McHale Memorial Cycle covers 35 miles and begins at 10am on Sunday, May 3, also at Aghyaran Centre. Registration starts at 9am, with refreshments before and after. Spot prizes are available.

Proceeds support counselling in local primary schools, a Multiple Sclerosis charity, a charity aiding families affected by cancer, and other local charity events.

The McHale family aims to fund counselling in seven primary schools, including a Relax Kids programme in six of them.
