A fundraising campaign for Pamela Stephens, a grandmother from Fermanagh diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer, has raised more than £70,000. The target was £70,000 to cover treatment costs.

The cancer has spread to her liver and brain. Local treatment options were exhausted after 15 months. Her sister Erica Cathers organised the online appeal.

Funds will support travel to a specialist cancer hospital in Istanbul, along with accommodation and ongoing medical care. Donations came from family, friends and the community. The largest was £3,000 from an anonymous donor.

Cathers stated the family received shattering news of the cancer's progression. The family noted Stephens faces her illness with determination and seeks more time with her family.
