Fermanagh Women Raise Funds for Cancer Charity Ahead of Liverpool Half Marathon
Two women from Derrygonnelly in Fermanagh have raised more than £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support prior to the Liverpool Half Marathon this weekend.
Emily Cassidy and Tara McAloon, both from Derrygonnelly, will run the 13.1-mile event on Saturday alongside Alex Johnston to aid the cancer charity.
The group started a GoFundMe page to support the charity, which has personal significance for them.
Tara McAloon lost her father Leo to bowel cancer in 2023, with Macmillan assisting the family.
That year Claire McAloon, Tara's mother, received a breast cancer diagnosis and is now in remission.
Alex Johnston's father James was diagnosed with oropharyngeal cancer in 2023 and now faces lung cancer.
Derrygonnelly Harps GFC extended best wishes to its club members Cassidy and McAloon for the charity run.
