Derry Woman Sentenced for Assaulting Father
A 21-year-old woman from Jefferson Court in Derry received a suspended sentence at Derry court for assaulting her father.
Courtney Temple admitted the assault which took place on November 20 of last year.
Police responded to a 999 call from the father. He reported that his daughter arrived at his house causing a nuisance. He stated she appeared intoxicated and slapped him on the side of the face. He then asked her to leave.
Defence counsel Sinead Rogan noted Temple's guilty plea and stated no injury occurred. Rogan said the parties had reconciled.
District Judge Oonagh Mullan noted Temple's record for common assaults. Mullan imposed a two-month sentence suspended for 12 months.
