Curraghinalt Goldmine Public Inquiry Resumes in Omagh After 15-Month Pause
The public inquiry into Dalradian Gold's planning application for a goldmine and processing plant in the Sperrin Mountains resumes next Monday in Omagh.
West Tyrone MLA Declan McAleer welcomed the restart after a 15-month adjournment. The inquiry paused in January 2025 following three days of hearings.
Dalradian Gold seeks approval to build the Curraghinalt project in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
More than 50,000 objections have been submitted to the inquiry.
McAleer noted community concerns over potential environmental and social impacts. He called for the process to continue without further delays and reach a timely conclusion.
Sinn Féin submitted detailed objections to the application. Party representatives plan to engage with the inquiry in coming months.
