Robert Murphy, aged 32 and of no fixed abode, appeared before Dungannon Magistrates Court on Tuesday following a robbery at a shop in the Forthill Street area of Enniskillen.

The incident occurred on Monday, April 6. Murphy entered the shop with a hammer. He assaulted a man, causing actual bodily harm, and made threats to kill him and a second man.

Police charged Murphy with robbery, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, and making threats to kill.

He appeared via video link from Strabane custody suite. Murphy confirmed his identity and that he understood the charges.

A police officer told the court the charges were connected. Defence made no bail application due to lack of address.

District Judge Oonagh Mullan remanded Murphy in custody. His next appearance is at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on April 27.

The Public Prosecution Service will review the charges as standard procedure.
