BELFAST: A 44-year-old man with more than 160 previous convictions pleaded guilty to common assault and making threats to damage property after entering his aunt's home and grabbing her while threatening her son and her property. District Judge Mark Hamill imposed a four-month prison sentence suspended for three years and added a two-year restraining order.

COLERAINE: MMA professional fighter Norman Parke, 39, of Bushmills, pleaded guilty to taking a Nissan X-Trail without the owner's consent, having no insurance, failing to display L plates, and driving unaccompanied as an L-plate driver. He was given an interim driving ban and the case was adjourned to September for a pre-sentence report, with the judge noting a history of unpaid fines and indicating all sentencing options were under consideration.
