Two people have been charged following public disorder in Portadown on Wednesday night. A 28-year-old man faces accusations of failing to remove a disguise when ordered, obstructing police, and resisting officers. A 24-year-old woman is accused of disorderly behaviour and possessing an item with intent to cause damage.

Both individuals were scheduled to appear at Lisburn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday morning. The charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service as part of standard procedure.

In a separate case, a 42-year-old man has been charged with riot, attempted criminal damage, and assault on a designated police officer. That alleged offence relates to disorder across Belfast on Tuesday 9 June.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland has established a Public Order Enquiry Team to examine online and video footage from the Belfast incidents. Investigators have indicated that further arrests and charges are likely.

No further details about the Portadown incident have been released.
