Irish Government Allocates £4 Million to Irish Language Projects in Northern Ireland
The Irish government has provided more than £4 million for Irish language projects in Northern Ireland. Sinn Féin MLA Aisling Reilly welcomed the funding.
The investment forms part of a £5 million package under the Shared Island Initiative for cultural and community development.
Reilly, Sinn Féin's Irish language lead, stated that the funding supports the ongoing development of the language in the region.
She noted that communities have seen a revival of the Irish language in recent years.
Reilly described the language as indigenous and shared among people in the area.
