City of Derry Airport has submitted a planning application to Derry City & Strabane District Council for a single-storey rear extension to its main building.

The proposal targets the apron side of the airport. It aims to increase floor space dedicated to baggage handling.

Planning documents specify the current floor area at 2525 square metres. The extension would add 37 square metres, bringing the total to 2562 square metres.

Council approval remains pending for the development.
