Infrastructure Minister Updates on Caw Roundabout Upgrade in Waterside
Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins provided an update on the signalisation of Caw Roundabout in Waterside, Derry. Foyle MLA Mark Durkan sought details on the upgrade.
The work forms a transport measure linked to the Rosses Gate housing development by Southbank Square at Ballyoan. The developer handles design and construction. Kimmins's department checks standards and ensures road safety.
Officials collaborate with the developer on detailed design. Kimmins met the developer on site to review proposals. She allocated extra resources for a prompt design review upon submission.
A year ago, Kimmins indicated completion before the 263rd dwelling is occupied and before November 30, 2026. Last September, officials approved an alternative mitigation plan from the developer.
The Rosses Gate site, on H30 lands zoned for housing, will include 690 dwellings such as detached houses, semi-detached homes, apartments and bungalows.
