Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins announced a £650,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme on Ecclesville Road at Murley Mountain in Fintona. The work starts on Monday, 9 March 2026.

The project covers 2.2 kilometres from the U1232 Corbally Road junction to Ballyness Road junction. It includes structural patching and drainage improvements.

A road closure will operate on Ecclesville Road from Aghafad Road to Ballyness Road, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm, for four weeks.

Signed diversions will run via Ecclesville Road, Aghafad Road, Fintona Road, A4 Ballagh Road, and A4 Edfield Way in Fivemiletown.

Kimmins stated the investment supports residents and road users on the Fintona to Fivemiletown route. She highlighted its role in connecting businesses and communities.

Local access and Translink bus and school services will continue during the works. Road users should anticipate delays and follow traffic restrictions.

Weather permitting, the scheme completes by Friday, 3 April 2026.
