Jenny Thomas, choreographer for Strictly Come Dancing, will lead dance workshops at the 25th City of Derry Jazz Festival. The event takes place in Derry next week.

Workshops occur at St Columb’s Hall on Saturday May 2nd and Sunday May 3rd. Saturday includes a beginners’ workshop and a solo Charleston session. Sunday features a Style Your Lindy Hop workshop.

Thomas will host a swing dance event on Saturday night at the same venue. She will make a guest appearance at the Mayor’s Tea Dance on Friday.

Aisling McCallion, festival co-ordinator with Derry City and Strabane District Council, welcomed Thomas to the event.

Tickets for Saturday beginners’ class cost £10, Jazz Masterclass with Thomas £20, and Jazz Ball £25. Sunday’s Learn the Strictly Charleston workshop costs £15. The Saturday ball is followed by Late Night Jazz Club at 10.30pm for £10.
