Police Probe Killing of 13 Lambs on Rostrevor Farm in County Down
Police in Northern Ireland are investigating the killing of 13 lambs on a farm at Drumsesk Road in Rostrevor, County Down.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland received a report that the lambs died between 7pm on Friday, March 13, and 7.45am on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
Inspector Reynolds stated that the necks of the lambs had been deliberately broken.
The incident took place on a farm owned by Kevin McGivern.
McGivern found the lambs after arriving at the field with his brother around 8am on Saturday to feed the sheep.
He observed that at least 11 lambs had broken necks and the others appeared strangled.
Inspector Reynolds described the killings as a shocking crime and requested information from anyone who saw unusual activity in the area during the specified time.
