Two Pedigree Rams Killed in Glenarm Field
Police in Larne are seeking information after two rams were found dead in a field in the Glenarm area on Tuesday morning, March 17.
The animals, a Hampshire Down and a Badger faced Texel, suffered severe wounds around the neck area. Their owner discovered them lying against a fence.
The rams were pedigree breeds valued at about £3000. The owner noted the loss of their bloodline and offered a £500 reward for information leading to a conviction.
A PSNI spokesperson stated the deaths were caused deliberately and not by an animal. Police described the incident as a senseless and extremely cruel crime.
Officers asked anyone who noticed unusual activity in the area to come forward.
The case is not connected to the earlier deaths of 13 lambs in Rostrevor, County Down, where necks appeared deliberately broken.
