Derry City and Strabane District Council organises family activities and entertainment in Strabane town centre on March 17 for the 20th anniversary of the St Patrick's Day parade.

The parade starts at 2pm from Holy Cross College. It follows Melmount Road, Bridge Street, Market Street, passes Abercorn Square, goes along Railway Road, and ends at Dock Street.

Local schools participating include St Catherine's Primary School, Holy Cross College, and Gaelscoil Uí Dhochartaigh. Community groups involved are Lisnafin Ardnalee Trust CCDA, Sion Swifts FC, Sigersons GAA, Browne-McGranaghan Academy of Irish Dance, Emma Coulter School of Irish Dance, Much Ado Performing Arts Academy, Class Act Theatre Group, and Encore PAA.

Streetwise Community Circus trained over 120 local schoolchildren. The children will carry props, perform juggling and stilt walking, and display banners and costumes during the parade.

In Abercorn Square, The Misty Days duo will play live music. Children can take part in face painting and arts and crafts in the pagoda.

After the parade, local bars in the town centre will host live music from early afternoon into the evening.

Mayor Ruairí McHugh of Derry City and Strabane District Council will lead the parade. He invited residents to attend and support the participants.
